Wella Color Charm T18 White Lady Review & Results

Going blonde when you are dark brunette is always a frustrating process. Unfortunately, you don't get that pretty pale blonde in one easy step.

After 2 sets of highlights done at the salon, I was still very unhappy with amount of orangey toned brassiness I had going on. I decided to take matters in to my own hands after reading several reviews online, and tried out the Wella Color Charm in T18 - White Lady. This can be purcashed at your local Sally Beauty Supply.

In order to use this, you can't be completely orange. Your hair needs to be lightened to atleast a light yellow. If you are still really brassy orange, you're probably going to need to bleach over it atleast one more time.

I applied this toner using a 20 volume creme developer. I think I left it on my hair for less than five minutes. I watched it VERY closely and could see it kind of turning gray so I washed it out very quickly.

After I was done washing it out and drying it, I noticed that it took a lot of the brass out. HOWEVER, it did make my hair VERY DULL and gray looking. It took about a week of washing with purple shiny shampoo to get it finally looking normal again. It really freaked me out at first and I didn't like my initial result. The gray look did however fade away after a few nights of washing with the purple shampoo.

Here's a picture of me a couple of weeks after using the toner. Still has some brass to it but the toner wasn't able to help out the parts that were orange-y. The parts that were light enough to tone did turn light pale blonde though :)

Cupcake Bath Bomb/Fizzie Tutorial

I am obsessed with all things cupcake, so whenever I found these cute little bath bomb cupcake ideas on a blog online, I decided to try to make some. I loved them so much, I decided to start up my own etsy shop selling them!! Here are some I made for a friend's baby shower:

To make the bottom "cupcake" part of the fizzie:
Mix these ingredients together in a bowl

The recipe will make about 6 standard size cupcakes

1 cup Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)
1/2 cup Citric Acid
2 teaspoons Fragrance Oil (you can buy this from brambleberry.com or wholesalesuppliesplus.com)

Once you've mixed it together, you will need to add spritzes of Witch Hazel as needed (also can be found at brambleberry.com)

Spritze the mixture until the consistency feels like wet sand. Clump it up in your hand and if it holds its shape, you are ready to go. Make you don't get the mixture TOO wet though as you don't want it to start foaming and clumping in the mold.

Now you're ready to pack into the molds. You can use silicone cupcake molds or the regular baking pans. If you use baking pans, you must use cupcake liners because this will harden and stick to your pan and you won't be able to get it out! If you don't want to use cupcake liners (really just used for decorative purposes, as you cant put it into the bath tub anyways!) then use the silicone molds so you can easily pop them out.

Now for the icing! (I only had enough icing for about 4 standard cupcakes)

3 tablespoons Meringue Powder
1/4 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
1 lb. Powdered Sugar
5 tablespoons Hot Water
1/4 teaspoon Fragrance Oil

You can also add color to this, too! Brambleberry.com carries a lot of skin safe coloring.

Mix everything together and BLEND BLEND BLEND until you get a nice thick icing that is not droopy or gooey! I used a disposable piping bag and a 1M Frosting Tip to ice the cupcakes.

Let this harden overnight and then you are ready to use in the bath! Absolutely love these..I think they make awesome party/shower favors or cute unique gifts for teachers, friends, or even yourself!

Eylure Lashes

I noticed these lashes at Target a couple weeks ago and had never seen them before so I decided to try them out. I absolutely loved them! They are really full and perfect for evening eyes, photo shoots, or going out ;) They were $5.99 but they are made from real hair and completely reusable! They had a few different styles, but I went for the more dramatic lash without being too intense!

And here's how they looked on!

I'm obsessed with MUG's matte black eyeshadow in Corrupt. It is insanely pigmented and the perfect JET BLACK color for extra smokey eyes! I love using it as an eyeliner. Because of how dark it is, it reminds me of MAC's Feline.

Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 Eyeshadow Swatches & Review + Eye Makeup Looks

I have had this palette for a long time now, so I thought now would be a good time to actually give it a proper review. At first glance, I thought this palette was amazing! After a few months of use, though, I am realizing that there are several colors in this palette that I don't even use at all! :(

I think this palette needs more matte shades! The older I get, the less I am liking the extremely shimmery/glittery shadows. My eyelids are unfortunately very wrinkly and most of these shimmery shades tend to magnify the wrinkles and make them look worse. I also feel like these eyeshadows are just so shimmery that they don't mix with each other well. I don't think a lot of the colors in the palette coordinate well together. I find myself having to use one or two from this palette and then have to go get a matte or different kind of shadow from one of my other palettes. I feel like a lot of the colors almost look the same when worn or just dont look good when they are blending together.

The colors I use the most would have to be booty call for a brow highlight, tease for an above crease color, and busted for an outer crease color. Blackout is a nice color to have when trying to smoke out your daytime shadow for a night time look.

I think the first Naked palette would have suited my tastes better. Maybe these shades look better on someone with a darker skin tone, but unforunately for me my pale face is just not feeling most of these!!

DIY Cheap/Inexpensive At Home Teeth Whitening/Bleaching

When it comes to my chompers, I like them white!! My smile is very important to me. I think it's one of my best features, and when I smile at people, I don't want yellow corn staring back at them! While I do love the look of white teeth, I don't feel like spenindg $394839483948 on teeth whitening treatments. But, "vanity" doesn't have to come with a high price ;) Check out this at home completely safe teeth whitening treatment and be on your way to whiter teeth the CHEAP way!

What you need:
+ A toothbrush
+ Toothpaste
+ Hydrogen Peroxide 2% (found in any drugstore, near the bandaids)
+ Baking soda (found in any grocery store, near the flour/baking goodies) I used Arm & Hammer pure baking soda
+Water

Total cost should be under $5!! (You know you already have a tooth brush and tooth paste.. and if you don't... yikes! Lol)

You can do this a number of different ways. I have tried different techniques and found that they all work well. I have read on pinterest about a 100 different ways to do this, and I have found that using "specific measurements" isn't necessary. Who has time to measure out peroxide and baking soda every morning anyway?!

If you want to, you can add a little water with the hydrogen peroxide. However, I prefer to use just straight up peroxide. Pour a little bit into a cup and swish around in your mouth for about 30 seconds. Make sure you do NOT swallow this! The taste is kind of icky, and you will have some white foaming, so don't let that scare you..its normal! Spit it out after about 30 seconds and then you will probably want to rinse your mouth with water because of the foul taste.

Next, I put my toothpaste on to my toothbrush, run my toothbrush under water, and then sprinkle baking soda on to the toothpaste. I don't know how much I use exactly- I just pour it on until the toothpaste is saturated. Then I brush my teeth as normal with the baking soda/toothpaste mix.

I have been doing this every day twice a day for a week and have noticed a really big difference. My teeth are definitely brigther and whiter! They look amazing. I have now tapered off and am only doing this about once a week now. I don't think this is something you need to continue doing every single day, as you don't want to wear the enamel off of your teeth.

Some other techniques you can use instead of the way I did it:
+Dip your toothbrush in the peroxide and brush the peroxide over your teeth. You can let this sit on them for about 30 seconds.
+Mix the toothpaste and the baking soda together with water to form a paste, and then brush teeth. (I feel like this takes too much time, so I do it my way instead)

The great things about this whitening system are...
+its cheap
+it covers ALL of your teeth (crest white strips only cover the front teeth)
+no burning/ sensitivity

Here are my results...(Sorry, no before picture, but this image isn't edited in any way..these are my real pearly whites!!)
